BIG LAKE HALF MARATHON
Participate
or just come and enjoy the annual Big Lake Half Marathon alongside
Lake Winnipesaukee in Alton. The race begins at 9:00am at Letter S
road in Alton. The runners depart on a 13.1 mile scenic run which
offers views of Lake Winnipesaukee and the surrounding mountains.
Thanks to traffic control, plenty of medical aid, as well as lead
and sag vehicles, you can run the course feeling safe and with the
knowledge that you can drop out at any time if you need to. So how
much does it cost to participate? Just $35 before April 6th and
$40 after. Participation will be limited to 1500 runners and there
are already hundreds of people entered in the race, so hurry up
and register now!
The Big Lake Battle
The volunteers who will be
working the water stops will be engaged in a competition of their
own, called the Big Lake Battle, a battle that is to the
participants benefit. Each water stop will be competing for cash
and prizes that can only be won by coming up with the most
creative and imaginative way to serve up water!
Big Lake Bash
Thanks to the gracious support of
various sponsors, all runners are invited to a
big feast and bash. Alton Bay will come alive with food and
a party that features the music of Paul Warnick, who will be
performing live on the bandstand.
