You may be asking yourself why we have Nascar racing at the New Hampshire International Speedway on our events pages when the races don't take place in the Lakes Region.  While they technically do not occur in the geographic area known as the Lakes Region, the Lakes Region is where the majority of the 100,000 race fans are located when the race is not actually in progress.  The Lakes Region acts as a staging area and provides you with a place to stay, places to eat, and plenty of other things to do for when the races end. The race track is only 15-20 miles from Laconia, Weirs Beach, and Meredith. If you are staying in other parts of the Lakes Region, such as Moultonboro, Wolfeboro, and Alton, it will take only a little longer. We recommend that you make reservations as soon as you can, as rooms book up extremely quickly for the dates the races are held.
