and boardwalk areas. Some of the photos were taken after
Labor Day when the crowds have gone home, leaving a
peaceful and serene environment, and some were taken
during the summer, when the beach is packed and the area

It
was your typical fall day in the lakeside town of
Wolfeboro. Frosty morning temperatures warmed to about 60
degrees in the afternoon, and there was hardly a cloud in
the sky. These photos were taken from aboard the Mt.
Washington as she cruised into Wolfeboro and docked to
unload some passengers. |

Meredith Rotary Fishing Derby, 2004 (Taken

For it's 25th anniversary, the
2004 Meredith Rotary Fishing Derby saw an increase in
attendance and greater ticket sales over last year.
While the weather on Friday was dreadful, with ice and snow,
things did improve. Included are twenty-two photos of the
this years derby. The photos were taken on February 7, 2004. |

A period of
extreme solar activity led to several extreme geomagnetic
storms. The lakes region was shrouded in clouds and
rain for all except one storm, which happened to be the
most powerful. Over one hundred photos were shot
that night, and here are the ten best along with some
detailed commentary. |

2003 Meredith Rotary Fishing Derby took place during a
spell of fabulous mid winter weather. It was the 24th
running of the derby, and as usual, it was a big success
with lots of prizes and of course tons of fun for everyone

Laconia
bike week is one of the big three national motorcycle
rallies that's held each year. More than 300,000
bikes from all over the country and the world descend on
Laconia each June for nine days of action, entertainment,
vendors and of course great riding! |

Sunny
Kirkwood's spectacular three acre garden, located in
nearby Holderness, includes a fern garden, a butterfly
garden, and a garden displaying a selection of shrubs and
flowers adapted to the northern New England climate. From
the middle of summer on through the first frost, it's a
continual show of color. |

Mt. Washington Shakedown Cruise

are photos taken on the Mt. Washington's annual shakedown
cruise. The shakedown cruise is the first time each year
that Mount sets out for it's scenic excursions around Lake
Winnipesaukee. Along the way, various maneuvers are
performed to test the Mount in preparation for the
upcoming busy summer season. |

Here

This particular winter was one of the mildest ever and
snow was in short supply just a little to our south.
Nevertheless, the ground was covered all winter and a
blanket of white allowing postcard beautiful scenes like
this to be captured. |

Winter
in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire brings thinner crowds
and a nip in the air. Snow wise, winters are very variable.
The snow will be up to your eyes one winter and only at
your ankles the next. These photographs are some of
the best we have been able to capture over the past three
winters. |

Funspot
puts on a fireworks display each May that simply cannot be
beat. The show, which is synchronized to music courtesy
of Oldies 105FM, is a 15-20 minute long visual delight
that rivals displays put on by larger cities. It's perhaps
one of best displays anywhere in New Hampshire, and is
fully worth checking out. |
