Here is a collection of
photos taken in around Lake Winnipesaukee on October 7, 2003. It was your typical fall
day, frosty morning temperatures warmed to about 60 degrees in the
afternoon, and there was hardly a cloud in the sky. These photos
were taken from aboard the Mt. Washington as she cruised all around
the lake.
Mt.
Chocorua forms an impressive backdrop from parts of the lake.
This is
the southwest facing side of Rattlesnake Island.
This
is the southeast shore of Weirs Bay.
The
marine patrol following our boat. That's red hill in the
background.
Plenty
of open space to cruise around.
This was
taken near the Wolfeboro end of the lake.
Looking
down the length of the broads to Center Harbor, 28 miles away.

Another
scene, I can't remember from where on the lake.
The
Belknap Range, with Gunstock in the center.
Looking
north into the wind, Rattlesnake Island to your left and Moose
Island to your right.
If
the island is big enough to walk on, it can probably support a
house, such as this one.
Another
shot looking down the length of the broads.
This
is the back side of Brickyard Mountain, soon to be turned into a
upscale housing development.
Approaching
Rattlesnake Island.
Looking
down the Lake heading towards Alton.
More of
the same, stunning scenery everywhere.
Looking
west toward the Belknap Range.
This is
in Center Harbor. You won't find too many traffic signs
out on the Lake, but this is one of them.
A
snow capped Mt. Washington can be seen 60 miles away.
A
sailboat takes advantage of the breeze out in the broads.
This
is Rattlesnake Island.
Plenty
of Islands make for plenty of neat coves and spot to poke
around.

Mt
Washington is visible from the middle sections of the lake near
the southern shores.
Red
Hill as seen in early May before the leaves are out.
The tops
of the Ossipee's poke in this scene.
A
snowy mid winter scene with snow blowing down the lake and snow
capped mountains.
This is
Moose Island, located out in the broads. Takes a beating
from a northwest wind.

Looking
southeast toward the far end of the lake near Wolfeboro and
Alton.
A
snow capped Mt. Washington can be observed in this photo.
Great
views can be had from just about everywhere.
If
the island is big enough to walk on, it can probably support a
house.
Little
coves prompt exploration.
Taken
from almost in the center of the lake.
The
Spindle Point lighthouse is visible in the shot taken in Weirs
Bay.
